To answer the previous post why did I change the ideas into new ones? The previous 3 ideas are great but are not what I wanted to make, instead of thinking of I want to make a web/app out of it I want to focus on the topic. So what do I mean by that? Topics which I am interested in and how can I help others, finding the best medium to present it. Let us look into the main ideas for now, shall we?
Nightmares are one of the common things that happen during our sleep, it is a mixture of memories and other random information played out in a disturbing way. Nightmares are lengthy, elaborate dreams with imagery that evokes fear, anxiety, or sadness (Psychologytoday, n.d.). The dreamer may wake up to avoid the perceived danger. But look around and turn on the bright side, what if bad dreams and nightmare may actually help you?
"Dreams give information about the secrets of the inner life and reveal to the dreamer hidden factors of his personality. As long as these are undiscovered, they disturb his waking life and betray themselves only in the form of symptoms. This means that we cannot effectively treat the patient from the side of consciousness alone, but must bring about a change in and through the unconscious. (Jung, 1995)"

What is the issues/ concept or problem?
“Dreams can indicate about mental health, reflecting conditions ranging from general emotional states to serious mental disorders. Sometimes a dream is just a dream — but, in some cases, it may mean something more (Bustle, 2017).” (stress, fear, anxiety and great sadness, discomfort, psychological or physical terror or panic)
What nightmare will causes?
Unable to sleep causing Insomnia, illusion, maybe even death
What do you want to make?
Desktop or mobile Website/ an app or maybe an interactive video?/ game? All three medium has its own pros and cons with a different experience.
Who is it for?
People who seek for answers, meanings or insights from their dream to get release from their nightmares. Due to suffering from insomnia because of nightmares causes lack of sleep (Hasler & Germain, 2010).
Young Adults around the age of 18-35, those who suffer from nightmares. According to research in comparison to children and elders, up to 85% of adults report at least one nightmare within the past year, 8–29% report monthly nightmares, and 2–6% report weekly nightmares.
What is the key unique idea?
1) Experiencing/simulating nightmare and how to overcome it
2) Provide insights and meanings
3) Medical help to nightmares
Why do you want to achieve?
To show dreams and nightmare is a sign of our mental health call for your attention, it is not that scary as it seems. Many adults suffer from nightmare avoiding by not going to sleep but bad dreams are beautiful it exists to overcome difficulties in our lives. (Nightmare can help us)
What are nightmares and why are nightmares are good for you?
"Nightmares are a replay of a traumatic event, so it is kind of like your body's own exposure therapy," said Michael Nadorff. A video explained “our brains turn our fears into an abstract story in the form of nightmares as you experience nightmare you wake up and remember it like it was real. Our brain works as a factory that produces your fears into memories because memories are more easier to process in human minds instead of “anxieties” about things around us (New York magazine, 2015).” Which means nightmare distance us from our fears, we need bad dreams to process all the bad stuff happening around us (Lukeman, 2000).
Nightmare can be a symbol of also feed us with information that what going on with our mental health. Dreams, like falling off a building or being naked in the public, are caused by hidden stress or anxieties. The meaning of these dreams can be an unpleasant change of job, place or even related to your work. Dreams can be hidden message calling from your dreams (Medical News Today, 2017 & Stout, n.d.).
How to overcome it?
Nightmares are caused by many factors, not just the fear we face in daily life but also from scary movies, eating spicy food during the night, traumatic experiences and etc. Commonly nightmare is a sign of our desire, fear, experience and hidden stress it can mean that is showing something to you. The best way is to face the nightmares and fear. A way to stop nightmare from getting worse is to make sense of nightmare. This activity is comparable to that of a self-assessment which is helpful for a person to understand their stress (Rogis, 2013). Knowing something about a dream or nightmare can significantly help a person identify any “real-life” stressors that they can easily modify to prevent restless night (LaBerge & Rheingold, 1990).
Survey information gathering before consultation:
Feedbacks after the consultation (the second meeting):
1) If my artefact is going to help others to solve dreams by understanding the meanings behind the dreams. But I was going to create an artefact to let users experience nightmare by wondering around the 3D surroundings to simulate the nightmare once again. Next will be providing insight of the dream. So I focus on the wrong point because if I want to help the user to solve nightmare, the user should able to look for similar things happen in their dream. But not wondering around finding nightmares not related to them.
2) The other problem was which is the best medium to present this idea, which I struggle with should it be a video (installation), a website or an app. Because all this three medium has their pros and cons. So my task for this idea is to find all the advantages and disadvantages to pick the best.
-Imagine if there is a dark room and you can hear all the sounds with visuals of nightmares scene surrounding you.
-Next website (due to website is one of the most explore place for people to find what is the meaning of their dreams ) a character in a dark wonderland yet to explore the surroundings check for nightmares, with music, sound, and atmosphere of nightmares.
-Or an app should be more convenient if the user just had a nightmare the next day user is able to open the app and look for the meanings.

This is an example of how I imagine my artefact will be like, in a nice dark atmosphere surrounded with nightmare to explore. This is a VR project but also available in other platforms, which there is a character you need to guide it to find all keys and put it together. The more key you put in the more changes of the light, music and visual it will have.
Since this is a long post for an idea, I will be posting my second idea in a separate post. See you then~
Thoughts of the days:
So after the meeting, my mind is more clear now I just need to do more research on what type of medium I am going to use. I feel more confident because I did my research and it is going well, I know this topic is going to do great. This is a new topic and I know my target audient's needs, I am happy to know after the survey people agree to face their nightmare if they had a chance to do it. Personally, the idea nightmare is base on my personal interest as I dream a lot of wired things happen in my life. I dream of predicting a real 'thing' happen to my family, having lucid dream (able to control my dream) and other types of dream related to my life. I will search for the meaning after the bad dreams, dreams are like a sign of something, so it relates to me and my interest of curiosity of dreams.
