The Big Three- Specialist meeting part 1
On week 2, I was finally assigned to my specialist Yi Wei:
Throughout the conversation, I explained the result of the survey (Behaviour study) and the research I have done last week. I didn't want to restrain myself to make the medium I wanted, I wish I can bring out the best experience with the right medium. So I struggled a lot about which one to pick out of web, app or interactive video but my specialist ask me "out of the three ideas which one you want to make?". My answer of course, is idea 1 and 3 because these two can really help my target audience and fulfill the needs of my audience. As for the 2 ideas, I don't know I should provide motivation or informative knowledge even the survey is done.
The next question comes "what is your strength and what do you want to do after graduation"? I want to be a web designer or anything related to mobile web/ app, my strength is design/visuals. This means the answer is clearer idea number 1 is more suitable for me to work with. As Yi Wei says: "Using the best medium is a great concept but you have to use what you are good at and make use of it, think of how to match your idea with the medium you want to use. Critical thinking is also part of the important thing we need to learn."
Findings:
-So idea 1 is more suitable for my strength and what I want to work in my future career
-Idea 1 might not be suitable to be in third-person view, maybe I can make it into first-person view, but let's say this three medium: app is more towards informative, not visuals so am I aiming to copyright? No. Interactive video and web can be aimed more for visuals, but I want to make users feel the music/sound and atmosphere. So a web also can be viewed on big screen not only videos.
-What if idea 1 nightmare, users can customize their dreams? The user can play with the colours/ mood/ sound/ voice, during the customization user might already trying hard to remember their dreams at the same time they already facing their dreams. Each individual user can view other's nightmare to see the nightmare is similar but different experience to everyone.
-Idea 3 is more towards the technical side and I am not aiming for that. All the technical parts like how to versus friends/ how to know the answer to the slang is correct/ how the AI know which is the highest in the leader board.
Thoughts of the day:
I am happy to have a conversation and meeting it really helps me to clear my mind. I am more clear which to aim for and how to move forward, best of all I know about critical thinking. After the next meeting with my second specialist, I will try to refine my execution. Once again see ya all on the next post~
