Specialist meeting 8 & 9- Interface & Interaction

I have been really focusing on finishing my visual content for the 4 nightmare sets. I made minor changes to let each nightmare consistent, changing some of the colours to a little darker and adding texture. As some of my classmates suggested that does not look scary enough like a nightmare. 

So is time for consulting to our technical lecturer, confirming whether by interaction is doable. The result.....:

-  I am making my interaction too hard for the user to interact

- Gesture interaction should be only 1 or 2 but not all because it not user-friendly. Maybe changing character or colour could use tapping and swiping because that makes more sense to the user.

- I should go with the traditional "buttons" interaction by just clicking on what the user wants.

- There is no need for worrying about the performance/ lagging speed of the web, I could still continue with using GIF format. Why? because I could use jQuery/ Javascript to call the image out instead of having it put in the site.

- I was given codes and example by the lecturer, showing how the button and interaction should work by calling it. 

- I need to design my interface before I code, so I was told to focus on my interface and interaction first.

This time I try to discuss with my specialist about my interface design as I face problems when I start to design the interface. I find that I could not find any similar reference or anything that is close to what I want. I search for horror games and try to look at how they design their landing page. There was no result to what I need, so I just try out on my own:

I just make it abstract, pencil sketch to represent the feeling of the nightmare. I was suggested to follow my style that is similar to the set of the nightmare, minimalist and abstract. I need to explore more on the visuals and typeface because it does not suitable. 

Thoughts of the day:

I struggle a lot on what visuals should I put in my interface, the overall layout is confirmed just what kind of visuals represent nightmare? I guess I have to look for more ideas before I go further on the other page design. I also have a hard time on the interaction design because it changes all the sudden and I just notice it is not doable. I just need the right reference and inspiration to push me in the right direction.
